When you begin therapy at Renewed Essence Counseling and Therapeutic Services, we start with a thoughtful and collaborative assessment to better understand your history, current stressors, strengths, relationships, and hopes for therapy. From there, we work together to create an approach that honors your needs, pace, capacity, and readiness.
My work is trauma-informed, relational, and tailored to the unique needs and goals each person brings into therapy. This may include EMDR and other therapeutic approaches that support healing, processing, and deeper connection to self over time.
Therapy is not about rushing toward answers or forcing transformation. It is about creating a steady and supportive space to relate differently to what you have been carrying, while building greater self-understanding, resilience, and possibility.
All therapy sessions are offered through a secure telehealth platform. At this time, I am licensed to provide mental health counseling to individuals residing in Washington.

EMDR-informed group work for is offered to organizations, schools, employers, and affinity groups seeking supportive, structured processing around shared experiences. These groups are designed to create space for collective regulation, meaning-making, and integration following events or circumstances that have impacted a community or group.
Group EMDR work is particularly well-suited for spaces navigating collective stress, grief, transition, or disruption, where participants may benefit from being witnessed and supported alongside others with a shared context. This work centers safety, choice, and pacing, and does not require participants to disclose personal details publicly.
EMDR group work is offered in person and takes place in a space provided by the requesting organization or group. Each offering is thoughtfully designed in collaboration with the host to ensure alignment with the group’s needs, capacity, and goals.
This service is appropriate for employers, schools, community organizations, and affinity groups seeking trauma-informed support that honors both individual experience and collective impact.

I partner with communities, organizations, and institutions to design and facilitate trainings that support mental health awareness, relational capacity, and sustainable care. My work helps groups move beyond surface-level conversations toward deeper understanding, reflection, and practical integration.
I have collaborated with schools and colleges, churches, community and social organizations, and businesses to support conversations around mental health, identity, stress, leadership, and belonging. I also facilitate dialogue with leadership teams around culture, care, and the lived impact of diversity, equity, and organizational values.
In addition to facilitation, I offer curriculum development and customized learning materials to support ongoing reflection, skill-building, and implementation beyond a single session.
Trainings are thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of each space and may include education, guided reflection, facilitated conversation, and practical tools that support both individual and collective wellbeing.

I offer consultation for individuals, organizations, and leadership teams seeking thoughtful, responsive approaches to mental health awareness, service design, and systems of care. My consultation work supports reflection, assessment, and practical guidance rooted in lived experience, clinical expertise, and equity-centered frameworks.
I bring specialized training as a Child Mental Health Specialist and an Ethnic Minority Mental Health Specialist (African American), alongside extensive experience across community mental health, higher education, child welfare, and community-based services. As a Black feminist clinician and researcher, my work attends closely to the intersections of mental health, identity, equity, and social context—supporting organizations in aligning values with practice.
I also provide consultation for teams developing mental health–adjacent technologies, including AI-supported tools, with a focus on ethical design, trauma-informed frameworks, and the lived impact of digital systems on care, training, and decision-making. This work is especially relevant for organizations seeking to integrate innovation without compromising dignity, equity, or human-centered practice.
